Remove pages from a PDF without re-exporting the whole thing
A blank scanned sheet, a cover page you don't need, a duplicate that snuck in when two documents got merged — deleting a page from a PDF sounds like it should be a right-click, but most PDF viewers don't let you do it without paying for the full editor. PDFLocal handles it as a dedicated step: tell it which pages to drop, and it rebuilds the file without them, entirely in your browser.
It works the same whether you're removing a single page or stripping out a dozen scattered ones — you're not limited to deleting from the end of the document or one page at a time.
How it works
- Upload the PDF you want to trim down.
- Type the page numbers to remove — single pages, ranges, or a mix, like
2,5-7. - Click Delete pages.
- Download the result. The original file isn't touched.
Deleting a mix of pages and ranges
The page field accepts both individual numbers and ranges in the same entry, so 2,5-7 removes page 2 plus pages 5 through 7 in one go — no need to run the tool multiple times for scattered pages. Numbering follows the order pages actually appear in the file, so it's worth a quick scroll through the preview first if you're not certain which page is which.
What happens to the pages I keep?
Nothing — the remaining pages keep their original content, formatting, and quality. Deleting pages just removes them from the document and renumbers what's left; it doesn't re-render or recompress anything, so there's no quality loss on the pages you're keeping.
Does my PDF get uploaded?
No. The file is processed locally with PDF.js, so it never leaves your device. That matters for anything with personal or sensitive information — you're not handing a copy to a server just to drop a couple of pages.
Common questions
Can I delete every page and end up with an empty PDF?
No — a PDF needs at least one page, so the tool won't let you delete the entire document. Leave at least one page out of your selection.
Will this change the file size?
Usually smaller, since you're removing content. Exactly how much depends on what was on the deleted pages — a page full of images will shrink the file more than a mostly blank one.
Do the remaining pages get renumbered?
Yes. If you delete page 3 from a 10-page document, the file you download has 9 pages numbered 1 through 9 in their original order.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. It runs directly in this page — no account, no software, no browser extension.
